Refocus your faith by giving up control - Devotional Day 6

What is the thing thats keeping you from loving and trusting God fully? I heard this saying a long time ago "our emotions lead to our thoughts, those thoughts lead to decisions, and those decisions determine behavior" How true is that? We go around and around in circles, spiraling and living with no peace in our lives. When you chose to see your situation, or you begin to take control of your negative thought patters, anxiety and depression - they all seem so small when we put on Gods perspective. It's the enemy that wants to keep you trapped. It's the enemy that wants to destroy your joy and will keep you stuck there for as long as you let him. You are strong enough to say "God you got this" "God lead me" "God today I say no to me and yes to you" It only takes that first step to submit to him.

Find a scripture verse that you can focus on, and every time you find yourself going down repeat that verse. Unknowingly, you have a verse memorized and you begin to write Gods word in your heart. Which is what he wants us to do. He also wants us to be still in him, to the beauty in the chaos, to see his peace in the mess, to see his presence in your soul. Let him in, his word says "do not fear" you can't rely on yourself, or anyone else. Because as people, we will always fail, we will never measure up. But God..

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you with arms wide open. I know that you will catch me when all things fall around me. I trust in you today, and I trust in you for the rest of the days to come. Help me to see you in all things. To recognize when your hand is at work and to give you glory always. Speak to me Lord, through your word, bring people into my life that I can depend on for advice that comes from you and not worldly desires or thoughts. Set me apart Lord, through my actions, thoughts, and the way I live. Amen.
