Refocus your faith by giving up control - Devotional Day 4

Let's look at the second part of the verse mentioned yesterday.

Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways submit to him and he will make your path straight.

Can I say "mic drop" Literally the key point to this devotional.

IN ALL YOUR WAYS - What does that refer to? How you treat your relationships, your work ethic, your health, your mind & thoughts, your parenting, your emotions, all your ways. Every small compartment that you can think of, submit them to him. Submit your pride, submit your emotions, your stubbornness, your controlling ways. He wants us to submit to him through joy, tears, fear, anxiously. If this is something you don't know how to do, all you have to do is speak to him like how you speak to your friends. Vent to him, allow him to be your best friend

HE WILL MAKE YOUR PATH STRAIGHT - "To make your path straight includes the idea of removing obstacles that are in the way. God will straighten the stressful paths. He does not say when or how; he just promises that he will." To trust that as long as we are faithful to him, proclaiming his name, humbling ourselves before him and to say "God I trust in your hand. I trust that I don't have control, only you do." All we can do is control how we will show up for God. How we will live out our faith and submit our thoughts and actions to him. He's going to come and rescue us, we must be patient and faithful.

I pray the reading from yesterday and today sort of put things into perspective. God wants all of us. Not just the areas that need cleaning up, even the areas where we are weak. Giving up control is not easy. But when you focus on being intentional and wholeheartedly give it all to God, so many good things happen

Memory Verse

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

Prayer
God today I come before you, I submit myself to you and all the areas of my life. I pray that you would help me to give up control in the areas that are only defeating me. You are God Almighty, you care for me and you love me. I know you want the best for me, and my flesh comes in the way of that. I thank you Lord, for being who you are. And today I want to trust you for my days to come. Strengthen my soul, mind and body so that I can learn to give you full control of all things. In your name, Amen.
